Arts & Culture

Encouraging girls to express themselves through Visual Art is pivotal. Work is always on display in order to affirm pupils, develop an aesthetic sense and an appreciation of art. The absorption and engagement of girls in the creative process is both humbling and inspiring.

Apart from the opportunities for performance in plays and festivals, girls take full advantage of lessons which promote the acquisition of skills such as mime, movement, dance improvisation and public speaking. In addition, confidence is built, interpersonal skills are developed and much pleasure is derived.

Music is a major focus in the Junior School. The girls respond to class music spontaneously and enjoy the variety of instruments on offer. From recorders to violins to drums, our girls are being exposed to beautiful music that echoes throughout our school. To be part of the Junior Wind Ensemble is most prestigious and to be invited to perform at functions in the community is always a privilege.
